Palm Springs Scultpure Vases

Description

Inspired by a Trip to Palm Springs CA, and the Mid Century vibes.

Handmade with slabs of clay, stoneware ceramics. Decorated individually with sgrafitto and mishima inlay techniques.
Fully glazed with white glossy glaze in the inside for water proofing purposes. The outside of the vase is a mix of raw speckled clay and hand glazed colourful abstract geometrical images all around. Individually decorated, never two are the same. They are great statement pieces to the Mid Century lovers, they look great as a sculptural piece with or a flower stem.

Small: 11 cm (H) x 9cm (W)

Medium: 13 cm (H) x 11cm (W) at base

Big : Teal/ Orange 16 cm H x 14 (W) at base 3 cm (D)

Big: Yellow/Brown  18 cm (H) x 15 (W) x 3 cm (D)

Extra Big Teal/Orange 18,5 cm (H) x 17 cm (W) at base x 3 cm (D

*Handwash preferable

Materials: The vases were  made with cone 6 stoneware. They are hand carved, hand  painted utilising food safe glazes and underglazes.

Sustainability: Alma Terra products are ethically made by me in my backyard studio, I care about the environment and the footprint on earth, I only use Australian raw materials and products instead of flying them form different parts of the world, I support Australian businesses only.  I recycle and reuse water from the studio to water the veggie garden right outside my creative space. Every left over of clay is recycled until I collect a sufficient amount to make more ceramic pieces.  The kiln is run on solar power to fire my work so I minimise the demand from electricity.
