These mugs are made using a slab building technique. Every single piece is handcut and joined to form a cylindrical conical shape. This mug was made in a natural colour stoneware clay body. The surface of the mug has been hand drawn and painted with wax resist which repels the glaze during the dipping process. A white food safe glaze with a glossy finish was used, which protects the piece from coffee and tea stains.
The mug’s volume capacity is 450 ml and measures 10 cm (H) x 8 cm (Diameter on top) x 9.5 (Diameter base)
Materials: all work is made with a cone 10 stoneware. They are handcarved and handpainted utilising food safe glazes.
